On February 1, 2025, during the London Coin Fair held at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith, a rare Swedish 5 öre coin from 1913 was acquired. This event, one of the UK's premier international numismatic shows, featured over 75 specialist dealers from around the world, offering a diverse array of coins, banknotes, medals, and antiquities. 

Among the numerous exhibits, this particular 5 öre coin stood out due to its excellent condition and historical significance. The coin, struck in bronze and weighing 8 grams, features the monogram of King Gustaf V on the obverse and the denomination along with three crowns on the reverse. Its mintage was limited, making it a sought-after piece for collectors.

After engaging in discussions with several reputable dealers and examining the coin's provenance and condition, the decision was made to add this exceptional piece to the collection. The acquisition not only enriched the collection but also highlighted the importance of attending such esteemed events to discover and obtain rare numismatic treasures.
